Deroux
Son and pupil of Georges Deroux. Born in Mirecourt. He worked for about three years with Silvestre in Lyon, and for around ten years with Miremont in Paris, where he became workshop foreman. He established his own business in 1884 at 16 rue Geoffroy-Marie. His workshop was taken over in 1923 by his grandsons R. and M. Millant. His violins are copies of Stradivarius and Guarnerius models. Good oil varnish in red or brown. A highly regarded restorer. Awarded distinctions at the Paris exhibitions. He signed exactly 244 instruments, including violins, violas, and cellos.
